wedding resources
Heey friends!
We are going to have a great time! Here’s some advice + tips for your big day to help you figure out the logistics stress-free. These resources are to help you have a smooth day so all the focus is on what matters, celebrating you two!
TImeline:
Having a timeline for your wedding is pretty essential. It’s your day, and of course things can be a bit flexible, but staying close to the timeline helps keep things organized. It allows us to make sure we use the time you have with me wisely also! I understand that wedding photography is an investment, my max hours that I work is 12 (10 hour package + 2-hour Peace of Mind add-on). I want to make sure that you get the most out of the experience as well. Timelines are a huge help with that! Click the button below to access the example timelines.
what to bring:
•Please have the following items prepared for me to photography (consider all that apply to you)
HERS:
•Invitation/Paper Goods
•Shoes
•Ring(s)
•Ring-box
•Bracelets
•Earrings
•Perfume
•Necklace
•Hair pieces
•Vow book, etc.
HIS:
•Shoes
•Ring
•Ring-box
•Bow-tie/tie
•Tie clip
•Pocket square
•Watch/pocket watch
•Cuff links
•Vow book, etc
Additional Info:
•Are there any textured/sentimental details that you love and feel would make great accent items for the detail shots? Feel free to put anything in that you might want to add (lace, fur, plants, rocks, crystals, etc.)
•Please let me know if you have a cute or special hanger for your dress. Wooden hangers will work great! Please bring it if you do, if not let me know and I will bring one for you.
•If you don’t mind leaving the bridal bouquet with your details and/or some loose flowers from the florist, I would love to incorporate it into the detail shots, floral is a great way to add to your depth and colour!
Getting Ready:
A great way to ensure your getting ready photos are amazing is to make sure you are getting ready in an area that is well-lit with lots of natural light. It’s also best to keep as much clutter gathered in one spacce, so we have also have some space to take photos without having the clutter in the background.
Consider an “unplugged” ceremony
Having an “unplugged” ceremony has quickly become the new norm for weddings. It helps people enjoy the moment without the distractions of getting photos or video. Not only does it help them enjoy the moment, but it also greatly reduces the chances of a guest stepping in front of the photographers/videographers way for the important moments like the first kiss.
**not my photos, I would never throw my clients under the bus like that haha :P , but you get the point!
first kiss:
The first kiss is an essential part of your wedding day, of course! A fool-proof way to make sure we catch that on camera is to kiss twice after the '“I do’s”. Yeah I said it, KISS TWICE! WHOO-HOO! This also gives the officiant extra time to step out of the way of the photo.
And then add a THIRD kiss towards the end of the aisle because they always make for an EPIC shot!! <3
family formals:
Family formals are of course an important part of your wedding day. However, they also take up a large amount of time. That’s why having a roll call sheet with the family group shots you’d like makes a great time saving and keeps us organized and moving. Unless your family formals are a really important highlight to your day (ie. over bride + groom portraits and wedding party portraits), I would keep it to a minimum of no more than 10 different group shots. Please list both the names and relation to you in the group shot list. :)
photo delivery:
Wedding photo delivery will be up to 12 weeks. This is to ensure I give myself enough time to give each photo the love and flair that it deserves. I pour my heart + soul into my work, I know the wait will be hard, but it will be worth it!
You’ll receive your photos through an online gallery, so they will only be delivered in a digital form, unless you’ve purchased a package that includes products. I do sell prints, canvases + albums, and other products and I highly recommend getting prints from a professional service as the quality is extremely high and ensures you’re getting a long-lasting product, plus it helps a small business owner such as myself :). However, I do recognize that there are less expensive alternatives and that’s more than okay with me! I give print release to my wedding clients so you have the option to print wherever you’d like, but I just encourage you to print and enjoy those memories to the fullest! :)
